特集SDGｓ 東村山市が「SDGｓ未来都市」について！渡部市長インタビュー（取材：2023年8月2日）

2023年度は、東村山市を含む28自治体が「SDGｓ未来都市」に、１０自治体が「自治体SDGｓモデル事業」に選定されました。このダブル選定は、多摩地区の中では初めてのことです。これからも東村山の街づくりを進めていきたいと思います。
「SDGs未来都市」とは、内閣府地方創生推進室が、SDGsの達成に取り組んでいる都市を選定する制度のことです。
目的は日本全体が持続的な経済社会の推進を図るために、その優れた取り組みを世界中に発信していくことです。また、その中から特に先導的なSDGs未来都市10事業を「自治体SDGsモデル事業」として選定して支援する取り組みです。

Feature: SDGs Future City – Interview with Mayor Watabe on Higashimurayama City’s Journey
In the fiscal year 2023, a total of 28 municipalities, including Higashimurayama City, were selected as “SDGs Future Cities,” with 10 municipalities chosen for the “Municipal SDGs Model Project.” This dual selection marks a first for the Tama region. We aspire to continue advancing Higashimurayama’s urban development.
The term “SDGs Future City” refers to a program established by the Cabinet Office’s Regional Revitalization Promotion Office to designate cities that are actively pursuing the achievement of SDGs. The aim is to promote sustainable economic and social progress throughout Japan and share these commendable efforts with the global community. Moreover, from among these, the ten most pioneering SDGs Future Cities are selected for support under the “Municipal SDGs Model Project.”
